On this webpage, you will find a range of measurement worksheets to help your child learn to convert between different metric units of measurement.

As well as converting between different metric units, the sheets on this page will also help children to practice multiplying by 10, 100 or 1000 in meaningful context.

The sheets have been carefully graded with the easiest sheets first.

The sheets have been designed for children working from 4th grade to 6th grade.

The first two or three sheets in each section are aimed at a 4th grade level.

Sheets 4 and 5 are aimed at 5th and 6th graders as they involve decimal conversion.

Using these metric conversion worksheets will help your child to:

  • convert between millimeters, centimeters, meters and kilometers;
  • convert between grams and kilograms;
  • convert between milliliters and liters.
  • convert a range of whole numbers and decimals

Converting Metric Units Support

KEY FACTS - LENGTH

1 cm = 10 mm

1 centimeter = 10 millimeters

1 m = 100 cm

1 meter = 100 centimeters

1 km = 1000 m

1 kilometer = 1000 meters

KEY FACTS - WEIGHT

1 kg = 1000 g

1 kilogram = 1000 grams

KEY FACTS - VOLUME

1 L = 1000 mL

1 liter = 1000 milliliters

Converting Metric Units: Length

Sheets 1 to 3 are aimed at a 4th Grade level and use whole numbers only.

Sheets 4 and 5 are aimed at a 5th/6th grade level and involve converting metric units to and from decimals.
