There are differences in the definition of what a face is depending on which country you are in.
In some countries, a face is defined to be a flat surface and cannot be curved.
In other countries, it is possible to have curved faces.
This irregularity has a knockon effect on edges, which are the place where two faces meet.
As a vertex is a place where two or more curves, lines or edges meet, this is also affected by ambiguities.
