Number of the Day Worksheet collection

We have created a bank of worksheets based around the theme of 'Number of the Day'.

Each of the worksheets has been designed for a specific range of different numerical values and to develop different mathematical skills.

One of the benefits of using these sheets on a regular basis is the repetition of using the same math skills with different numbers to develop learning over time.

We have a range of different Number of the Day sheets suitable for children from kindergarten through to 5th grade.

The sheets have been designed to get students to practice some of the key concepts and skills for their stage, including:

• placing values on a number line
• roman numerals

We have tried to indicate for each sheet which grade it has been designed for as a guide to help you select the correct one.

For example, our Number of the Day up to 20 Sheet 1 is suitable for kindergarten and first grade, but Sheet 2 is only really suitable for 5th grade and up.

Sheet 1 is suitable for kindergarten includes the following skills:

• 1 more and 1 less
• recording as a tally
• shading a tens frame
• showing as a picture
• showing in a part-whole model
• recording as an addition with two parts

Sheet 2 is suitable for 1st grade and includes the following additional skills:

• showing on a number line
• recording as an addition and subtraction family

Sheet 1 is suitable for kindergarten to 1st grade and includes the following skills:

• 1 more and 1 less
• recording in a tens frame
• recording in a place value chart
• showing in a part-whole model
• recording as an addition with two parts
• showing on a number line

Sheet 2 is suitable for 5th graders and up and includes the following skills:

• doubling and halving of the number
• multiplying and dividing the number by 10
• writing a list of factors for the number
• deciding if the number is prime
• writing the number in roman numerals
• recording as an addition and subtraction family

Sheet 1 is suitable for 2nd grade and includes the following skills:

• 1 more and 1 less; 10 more and 10 less
• recording in a place value chart and blocks
• exapnded form, e.g. 73 = 70 + 3
• showing in a part-whole model
• recording as an addition and subtraction family
• showing on a number line

Sheet 2 is suitable for 3rd graders and up and includes the following additional skills:

• check if the number is a multiple of 2, 5 and 10
• doubling and halving
• rounding to the nearest 10
• complement to 100, e.g. 28 + 72 = 100

Sheet 3 is designed for 4th grade and is similar to Sheet 2 but includes the following additional skills:

• multiplying number by 10
• factor pairs

Sheet 4 is designed for 5th graders and is similar to Sheet 3 but also includes:

• 10 times bigger and 10 times smaller
• list of factors
• roman numerals

Sheet 1 is suitable for 2nd grade and includes the following skills:

• 1, 10 and 100 more and less
• place value blocks
• place value chart and expanded form
• addition and subtraction family
• recording on a number line

Sheet 2 is designed for 3rd/4th graders and is similar to Sheet 1, but includes these extra skills:

• 10 times bigger and smaller
• complement to 1000
• rounding to the nearest 10 and 100
