During Fourth Grade, most children learn to round off numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000 or million. They are able to add columns of numbers together accurately, and subtract numbers proficiently. They show a good understanding of place value in relation to decimals, and can add and subtract decimals with up to 2 decimal places.
Children are able to multiply a range of whole numbers by one or two digits, and divide numbers by a single digit. They can use their multiplication table facts to answer related questions.
Children are able to compare fractions, and know how to work out equivalent fractions. They are able to solve multi-step problems involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

In the UK, 4th Grade is equivalent to Year 5.
Simple line graphs are introduced at a 3rd grade level; by the time children get to 4th grade they are ready for some more complex line graphs.
The vertical scale in much more varied on these sheets, and the level of analysis is getting harder.
On this page there are a wide variety of line graphs on a variety of different topics.
Many of the graphs involve 'real-life' data such as the SUV fuel economy graph, and the puppy weight graph.
Some of the line graphs start at zero on the vertical axis, but some of the graphs start at higher numbers.
There are lots of opportunities on each of the worksheets to interpret the graphs and answer simple questions about the data.
On some of the later sheets, there are opportunities for plotting and drawing part of the graph.
