Our negative number line worksheets have been designed for students around 6th grade.
There are 3 different types of worksheets that we have created to develop negative number skills.
Worksheet 1 involves filling in the missing numbers on each of the number lines which have been partially filled.
Worksheet 2 involves filling in selected numbers on a number line which are situated on the points on a scale split into 10 intervals.
Worksheet 3 involves filling in selected numbers on a number line which are situated in random places within the intervals and require estimation skills to work out

These sheets involve filling in all the missing numbers on each of the number lines.
These sheets involve filling in the numbers marked by the arrows on each of the number lines.
Each of the missing numbers is located at one of the points on the number line.
These sheets involve filling in the numbers marked by the arrows on each of the number lines, most of which are located within the intervals.
Sheet 3A only involves missing numbers halfway between two points with precise values.
Sheets 3B and 3C require estimation skills to work out the value of the point within the interval.

How to compare negative numbers
When you are comparing with negative numbers, everything swaps around and becomes a little more complicated!
With negative numbers, the more negative the number is, the lower its value.
As you go right along the number line, the values are increasing.
As you go left along the number line, the values are decreasing.
This means that any positive number (or even zero) will always be greater than any negative number.
