Welcome to our Ordering Negative Numbers page.
Here is our selection of worksheets designed to help your child learn to order a range of positive and negative numbers from -10 to 10.
Our worksheets include ordering lists of numbers and positioning numbers on a negative number line.
Negative numbers are numbers with a value of less than zero.
They can be fractions, decimals, rational and irrational numbers.
-13, -½ , -√2, -6.4 and -123 are all negative numbers.
We have a page dedicated to learning about negative numbers below.
When you order negative numbers, the larger the number after the negative sign, the smaller the number actually is.
This means that -7 is smaller than -5, and -20 is smaller than -9.
This can be quite confusing to children who are used to numbers getting larger as they increase in size.
Using a number line can really help children and support their understanding at this stage.
Here you will find a range of free printable math worksheets, which will help your child learn to order negative numbers.
The sheets are graded in order of difficulty with the easier ones coming first.
