Welcome to our Pre K Math Worksheets.
Here you will find a selection of free preschool worksheets which will help
your child learn to identify, count and match numbers from 6 through 10.
These worksheets will are a great way to practice simple counting and recognising numbers from numbers 6 through 10.
By the time children get to preschool, they are starting to develop an understanding of of what a number is and to recognise the number of objects in small groups.
Counting is probably the most important skill your child will learn at this age.
By the end of pre-k, they should be able to count to 10 reliably, and understand the 1:1 correspondence of numbers and objects, knowing that the last number they counted tells them how many objects they are counting.
As well as developing their number sense, they are beginning to understand the language of position, and can tell the relative position of objects using words like 'above', 'below', 'next to'.
At this stage, children should be allowed to explore and play as much as possible with different materials, shapes, puzzles, and get an idea of how they work.
When comparing objects, children can tell which object is bigger or smaller than another. They can tell when two objects are the same and when they are different.
By the time children get to preschool, most of them will be able to count up to 10, and some of them may reach quite a bit higher.
However, what many of them will not be able to do is to count accurately, even small numbers up to 5.
They need to learn 1:1 correspondence and to have a system for counting where they count each object once and once only without missing any out.
The worksheets in this section will help them learn to count and match numbers from 6 through 10 using pictures, numbers and words.
