Thanksgiving Math Activities
4th Grade

Welcome to our Thanksgiving Math Activities 4th Grade page.

We have a range of Thanksgiving worksheets and tasks designed to support a range of different math skills at a 4th grade level.

Our worksheets include: math puzzles, math games, and craft activities

Thanksgiving Math Activities 4th Grade

We have created a range of 4th grade worksheets with a Thanksgiving theme.

There are several codebreaker worksheets where you have to work out the answer to a Thanksgiving joke.

We have some picture puzzle worksheets where you have to use and find the value of different Thanksgiving symbols.

There are also two arithmetic symbol worksheets where you have to use your reasoning to work out the values of different Thanksgiving picture symbols.

If you want to try something different, you can always try one of our Thanksgiving math games or craft activities.

Using these sheets will help your child to:

  • practice your multiplication facts up to 12x12;
  • practice your division facts to 10x10;
  • find unit fractions of different numbers (e.g. ¼ of 20);
  • solve math puzzles with a Thanksgiving theme

The pages have been split up into several different sections:

  • the first section contains our codebreaking worksheets.
  • the second section contains our picture puzzle and arithmetic puzzle worksheets.
  • the third section contains our Thanksgiving math games
  • the last section contains our Thanksgiving craft ideas.

Thanksgiving Codebreaker Sheets

Our codebreaker worksheets each contain a Thanksgiving joke. To find the answer to the joke, you have to work out the codebreaker!

Sheet 4A involves finding multiplication and division facts.

Sheet 4B involves finding unit fractions of different numbers.

Thanksgiving Picture Puzzle Sheets

These sheets both involve using logic and reasoning to work out the values of each of the Thanksgiving symbols.

Thanksgiving Arithmetic Symbol Puzzles

To work out the solution to these puzzles, you have to use your reasoning skills.

You are given different symbols in an equation and you have to work out the values of each of the symbols and also the missing totals.

The first sheet is slightly easier as it has a smaller range of numbers to choose the values from.

Thanksgiving Math Games

We have created several math games suitable for 3rd and 4th graders with a Thanksgiving theme.

Turkey Crossing is a strategy game. One player plays 3 farmers and the other player is the turkey. The turkey has to escape from the farmers and get to the other side of the field to escape. This game is suitable for kids of all ages.

Thanksgiving Cover Up which is a fun math fact game where you use your addition, subtraction and multiplication skills to make different numbers. There is an easier and harder version of this game.

Thanksgiving Three of a Kind game which is very similar to the Thanksgiving Cover Up game.

Each game comes complete with instructions.

Race to the New World is a math fact game where you need to answer a multiplication or division fact correctly to try to create an unbroken path of counters from Southampton to the New World.

Thanksgiving Craft Activities

We have created a couple of nets with a Thanksgiving theme.

There are several versions of each net, so you can either choose one which already has pictures to color or draw your own.

The nets are best printed out on thick paper so that you can make them into Thanksgiving boxes.

To make the Thanksgiving boxes, you need to work slowly carefully and have plenty of patience!

Follow these instructions to create your box:

  1. choose which box you want to make and print it out on thick paper
  2. cut out the nets carefully and take your time to do a good job
  3. score the fold lines before folding - you can use a blunt pair of scissors to do this. This will make folding easier.
  4. fold along each of the fold lines
  5. place a small amount of paper glue on each of the tabs except the lid!
  6. stick your box together
