Understanding Multiplication to 10x10

Here you will find a selection of Third Grade Multiplication sheets designed to help your child improve both their mental Multiplication skills and understanding of multiplication up to 10x10. The sheets are graded so that the easier ones are at the top.

Using these sheets will help your child to:
  • understand multiplication as repeated addition;
  • express a multiplication statement as a division and a division statement as a multiplication;
  • practice and learn their multiplication table to 10x10.

3rd Grade Understanding Multiplication

These sheets are a great way to develop students' understanding of multiplication as repeated addition and also the relationship between multiplication and division.

For the Multiplication as Repeated Addition worksheets, there are two options:

  • Use sheets 1A and 2A if you teach multiplication using the 'lots of' method
    Lots of Method: 3 x 5 = 3 lots of 5 = 5 + 5 + 5

  • Use sheets 1B and 2B if you teach multiplication using the 'multiplied by' method
    Multiplied by Method: 3 x 5 = 3 multiplied by 5 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3
